Rep. Lucy Gomez distributes 162 more boats for Isabel, Albuera

lucy with magnoliaLIVING UP to her promise that she will not come home empty-handed when she visits her Yolanda-stricken constituents, Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez distributed 162 more motorized fiberglass to fishermen from Ormoc, Albuera and Isabel.

70 motorboats went to Albuera fisherfolks, 70 to Isabel and another 22 to Ormoc. Mayor Ramon Dela Cerna of Albuera, together with vice-mayor Norman Mesina and some Albuera councilors, were present during the distribution. Former municipal administrator Ella Brebante, on the other hand, accompanied the fisherfolks from Isabel while allies of Rep. Gomez in the Ormoc City council dropped by.

The 162 motorized boats, it was learned was donated by the American Chamber Time Depot; the AmCham Kapihan 1 & 2; San Miguel Corporation; Mayon Class ’73; Isabel Philippines; Elena Lee; Universal Robina Corporation (Chippy/Mang Juan); United Architects of the Philippines – Diliman; Jocelyn Chua; Rotary Club of Butuan (Reno/Marina/Cameron); Rotary Club of Bagumbayan; Nenita Guzman; Songbird Nelson; W. Talent Management (Pia Campos); Mel Maranan (Help Wir Helfen); SKAL International; Mohammad Issa; Mohammad Rashid and Reyes Tacandong & Co.

The recent distribution brings to close to a thousand the number of motorized fishing boats that the congresswoman has already given out, which is part of her “6,200: Mission Possible” fund-raising to give each of the 4th district’s registered fishermen a boat each.
